
While I’ll give my two cents on these changes, I won’t directly comment on whether or not these combo weapons should return.
This is to both give a chance to explain some important things in regards to DR3’s systems and showcase the differences in design mentalities. Returning Combo Weapons: Weapons from the Dead Rising 2 saga these reviews will simply focus on the changes that Dead Rising 3 made to them.

Dead Rising 3 is a more complicated game than DR4 was, and it was also a bit of a reimagining of the classic Dead Rising formula (although not quite an overhaul), so each subsection will have a different goal with it’s reviews: However, the purposes of each review will be slightly altered (hence the slightly different title). That’s why, despite the daunting size of the task, I’ve been looking forward to reviewing all the combo weapons in this game. As for myself, after having played this game over it’s seven and a half year lifespan, I can safely say two things: there was room for improvement in literally every aspect of this game, and it’s the most underappreciated entry in the series. Maybe you’ve heard someone say it’s a mediocre game that is just competent enough to not be bad, or that it’s a fine game that’s not a good Dead Rising game I know ‘ve heard it all. Before that, opinions were all over the place some say it’s the worst not counting DR4, whereas others say it’s the best in the series. The only thing everyone seems to agree upon with Dead Rising 3 is that it’s better than Dead Rising 4.
